Terms of Use and Supply Conditions

This page sets out the terms on which you may use this website, and summarises the main conditions on which Sentor equipment and software are supplied.

The summary below is not the complete conditions of supply. Full conditions — including delivery, payment, warranty exclusions and liability — are provided with your quotation and are available on request from [email protected]. Where this page and your quotation differ, the quotation applies.

2. Using this website

By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

This website is published for general information about Sentor products and capabilities. Nothing on it is an offer to sell, a quotation, or a contractual specification. Equipment is supplied under the conditions that accompany your quotation.

3. Product information and specifications

We take care to describe our products accurately, and the technical figures published here are drawn from Sentor’s own product documentation. Even so:

• specifications are subject to change as products develop;
• whether a product suits a particular site depends on conditions we cannot assess from a web page;
• where a page asks you to confirm a detail with us before writing it into a specification or a tender, that invitation is meant literally.

Specifications, point counts, protocol support and integration details should be confirmed in writing for your project before you rely on them. We would far rather answer the question now than have it surface at commissioning.

4. Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, images, diagrams, product documentation, and the Sentor name and marks — is owned by Sentor or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.

You may view, download and print material from this website for your own internal evaluation, procurement or operational purposes. You may not republish it, sell it, use it commercially or present it as your own without our written permission.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this website to do anything unlawful, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any system connected to it, to interfere with its operation, or to extract its content systematically by automated means for a competing commercial purpose.

6. Links to other websites

This website links to third-party websites, including those of distributors, partners and equipment manufacturers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

7. Availability

We do not guarantee that this website will be available uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

8. Your information

When you contact us through this website we collect and use your information as described in our Privacy Policy. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the website enquiry form.

9. Warranty

Sentor system hardware is guaranteed to operate reliably in accordance with the product specifications for a period of 12 months. Software supplied with the system is warranted to perform substantially in accordance with its documentation for the same period.

Warranty service is provided on a return to reseller basis. The product warranty is limited to the original purchase cost of the unit or product, whichever is the lesser.

How the warranty period is calculated, what it excludes, and how to make a claim are set out in the conditions supplied with your quotation. Ask us and we will send them to you before you order.

10. Software

Sentor software — including SitePRO, SenTrend, SenVision and SenCheck — is licensed on a subscription basis, not sold. Sentor or its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in it. Subject to payment of the applicable fees, you may use the software for your own internal purposes in connection with Sentor equipment you have purchased, for as long as the subscription remains current.

SentorCloud is a hosted service rather than installed software and is supplied under separate hosted-service terms.

Worth knowing: the controller runs its scenario logic on site, independently of the software. Your sites do not stop being monitored and controlled because a subscription question is outstanding — what changes is your ability to watch them from a screen.

11. Installation and commissioning

Installation and commissioning are not included in the price of equipment unless your quotation says so. Where installation is required:

• in Australia and New Zealand, it is arranged through Radio Industries Australia Pty. Limited on request, and booked and invoiced separately;
• elsewhere, it is arranged through a third-party installer, or, where you prefer to install the equipment yourself, we provide installation instruction and documentation to support you.

Where you or your own contractor install the equipment, you are responsible for installing it in accordance with our installation documentation, and for providing suitable power, enclosure, earthing, surge protection and communications at the site.

Scenario logic and system configuration reflect the operating rules you specify. You are responsible for the suitability of those rules for your site, and for testing them before relying on them.

12. Third-party equipment and protocols

Where a Sentor system connects to third-party equipment, control systems or communications services — SCADA masters, network-management platforms, access readers, cameras, cellular carriers, satellite providers — we are responsible for our own equipment and software, and not for the third party’s.

Protocol interoperability, including DNP3 and SNMP, is confirmed against your specific system before it is specified. We do not warrant interoperability with a system we have not been given the opportunity to confirm against.

13. Monitoring service

Sentor’s 24/7 remote site monitoring service is supplied under separate service terms, not under these supply conditions. Read about the service or contact us for its terms.

14. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing on this page or in our conditions of supply excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law or any other law where to do so would be unlawful.

Where goods or services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and where the law permits liability to be limited, that liability is limited, at the supplier’s option, to:

• in the case of goods — replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, repairing the goods, or paying the cost of doing so; and
• in the case of services — supplying the services again, or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

15. Reliance on this website

Subject to section 14, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including a decision made on the basis of published specifications that were not confirmed in writing for your project.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you use the website is the version that applies, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.

17. Governing law

These terms of use are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts competent to hear appeals from them.

Conditions of supply are governed by the terms accompanying your quotation, which will state the governing law applicable to your purchase.
